The Next Nest
The level of civilisation of a people can be seen in the number, importance and suitability of its social structures and in the type of attention given to the culture and spiritual elevation of its offspring.
In today’s architecture and design, the disproportion between supply and real demand is increasingly plain to see, and the absence of any real link between the former and that latter is quite astonishing. How can this situation be set right? Only by going back to the original issue. Trying to listen to and understand the needs of today, and thus coming up with what is eally required. Educating, right from childhood, a new, mindful client base and one that considers design as an art form.
The Next Nest is a space devoted to “children aged 0 to 90″ where people can learn to look at reality and where “creative design thinking” is encouraged.
For events will mark four basic stages: a live painting performance by Daniele Galliano will be coupled with the music of Saturnino Celani and with visual effects produced by the Tim Innovation Lab, in a space designed by OfficineMultiplo. With the creators of the project (Mario Cipriano, Francesca Di Noia, and Luca Berardo) and the contribution of the designer Ettore Balbo, OfficineMultiplo has curated all aspects of the display, communication and organisation. This is a reflection on the importance of supply meeting demand, with the awareness that good design dependes not so much on a good designer as on the awareness of a clientele that is capable of assessing and choosing its own future.
